I found a great list of the top 20 most shocking shark movies ever made.  The movie the kicked off trend in 1969 was a B film called Shark!.  It was so popular, another B film was made in 1971 called Blue Water, White Death.  Then of course along came the JAWS franchise.  The first JAWS established Steven Spielberg as the hottest director in Hollywood and launched a new method of marketing and distributing films, making it the most successful film up to that time (1975).

JAWS 2
JAWS 3D (Jaws is after Dennis Quaid this time).
JAWS Revenge (It takes one hungry shark to eat a helicopter).
Deep Blue Sea
Open Water (2 people treading water for 2 hours, and guess what happens - they die)!
Shark Attack 1, 2, 3 (which featured a dude on a jet ski getting eaten whole).
12 Days of Terror (a docu-drama on the original book that inspired JAWS).
Red Water
Hammerhead Shark Frenzy (I think this is a movie about a frenzy of hammerhead sharks, not sure).
The Deep (Jacqueline Bissett - what more do you need)?
Shark Hunter (a guy seeking revenge on the shark that ate his dad).
Blue Demon (2004)
Raging Sharks (2005)
Shark Zone (2003)
Shark Attack in the Mediterranean (2004)

Mission of the Shark (a true story of US Navy ship sinking, and the survivors getting eaten one by one).
