One way to remember the days you spent on the beach this summer is with these crafty shell candles. Posted by Julie on the Free People blog, the DIY project makes the perfect transitional decor as you move from summer to autumn.

You will need at least one large sea shell, plus paraffin wax, a candle wick, super glue and a double broiler. Or, a small tin can and a small pot will also do. If you are feeling particularly artistic, you can also try painting the exterior of the shell candles.

According to Julie, this is a creative way of keeping summer memories alive. It's also a way to bring the beach indoors if you are into that kind of thing.
