Post-Olympic Fame [Edit]

Shawn Johnson may have thought that winning gold and silver medals were fun, but the Olympian’s celebrity status keeps getting pumped up.  She appeared on David Letterman and now she’s planned to lead the Pledge of Allegiance today at the Democratic National Convention.

Four medals, including a gold, were won by Shawn Johnson in Beijing.  Now the 16-year-old will perform in front of 75,000 Democrats, as Barack Obama prepares to accept the nomination of his party to become its Presidential Candidate. 

We’ll see whether Shawn Johnson can maintain this post-Olympic celebrity boost for long.
