Being a "starving artist" can end with one commission that launches an artist into the art world, so preemptively, the ‘Shaq Attack!’ project by Julian Garcia and Matt Goerzen aims to get Shaq’s attention and have him commission a custom dunk rig from them.
The approach is bold and uses Google AdSense to capture his attention, based on information about him that’s publicly available — they know he’s an art collector and so the ad for their dunk rig will be displayed with things Shaq might be searching for. If Shaq looks up something like Call of Duty, his favorite video game, he might stumble upon Garcia and Goerzen’s ad, which reads: "Are you Shaquille O’Neal - Want to see your dream artwork?"
With enough buzz on the Internet, Shaq might even check it out — hopefully he’s not using an ad blocker.
