Books as Balance Weights [Edit]

Designers Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto, owners of studio BCXSY, collaborated in the design of a See-Saw Bookshelf which uses books as weights for balancing. The shelf is made of American Walnut wood with powder coated steel holders.

It’s more of a design installation than a functional piece. I can see it in home libraries, but definitely not in busy offices.

So, go ahead, grab your old school text books and finally put them to good use!
