Cooking has gained incredible popularity due to the influx of culinary TV shows. The Food Network has become a favourite channel among all ages, spurring a generation of teens to consider careers in cookery.

Florida’s Harbor Beach Marriott is offering ambitious youth the opportunity to fulfill their own Food Network fantasies this summer. The six day culinary camp is aimed at 16 to 18 year-olds who want to experience the industry first-hand.

The camp will be held August 11-17, 2007 at the hotel for a nightly rate of USD $680. Ocean-views, lessons at 3030 Ocean Restaurant and free time on South Florida’s largest private beach are included as well as room to accommodate a family of four.

Only eight students will be selected, the final decision based on references, cooking experience and an essay that showcases a solid commitment to gastronomy. On completion, students receive a certificate and reference letter from Chef Dean Max. Better apply soon though; the deadline for applications is June 1, 2007.

How refreshing to see that even young men are more open to gastronomic pursuits! The husbands of the future are shaping up to be rather appealing.

Ladies, it’s time to sit back and let these men put their crafty talents to the test. Someone better consider pitching a reality massage show—that’s something that could rub us all the right way!
