Ben Brittain is a Brooklyn-based designer who creates sculptural lighting fixtures with brass and glass materials. Her designs are most commonly geometric; the latest edition being the ‘Vise’ light. This modern light expands on Britain’s former work with color and new materials. Her designs begin with a paper mock up, then the first step to create this design is producing the glass component. I love that the glass has a turquoise and pink ombre effect that adds a little splash of color.

The brass components are manufactured in New York and perfected by members of the designer's team. Once the parts are completely tweaked and drafted, assembling can begin, and Brittain completes the project with the wiring. The design of this light is futuristic and well suited for a modern home. These types of designs are simple yet groundbreaking in taking modern lighting design through the next few years.
