If you have a blog, you’ll want to be a part of this. A brand new startup called ScatterTree.com has started the first blog-focused news distribution site. Businesses submit news to a specific category of blogs. Blogs, who have opted in, receive relevant, just-released content. Sounds like a great combo.
“The first thing ScatterTree has to do is build a network of blogs,” the site says. “We are looking for bloggers that want relevant, breaking news sent directly to their inbox.”
“Once enough blogs join, ScatterTree will offer businesses a new way to distribute their news. Businesses will choose the category that relates to their product, service, event, business, etc. ScatterTree will then email the news directly to the blogs that have opted-in for the chosen category. The news will also be posted on ScatterTree.com.”
How We Differ.
As far as we know, ScatterTree is the first news distribution service that focuses on blogs. Quite frankly, we're surprised this isn't already being done. Sure, other PR services include a few major blogs in their distribution lists but, ScatterTree wants to reach the little guys, as well. We believe that word-of-mouth marketing happens at the micro-blog level. The power is in the numbers.
ScatterTree doesn't put it's effort into distributing the traditional press release format. We believe that a catchy headline and a great photo sells people. This is what blogs do, right? We require that every news submission has at least one photo.
We will show all of the blogs that have joined the ScatterTree network for each category. What you see is what you get.
Benefits.
Bloggers - You get the latest and greatest news about all the stuff you write about. No more than once a day*, we'll send you an email with news submissions. We know how important images are in the blogging biz, so all news submissions will have at least one pic included.
Businesses - You get your news distributed to some of the most influential people in the world - bloggers. Since you get to choose which category of blogs we send your news to, you have a better chance of someone being interested in and thus, writing about your news story.
