Sawaya & Moroni is an Italian brand known for it’s modern designs and obscure furniture so when Zaha Hadid created this creased plastic chair it fit perfectly with the brands style.

To create this fluid looking piece Zaha Hadid used only one piece of material and a unique bending technique. By folded a round sheet of plastic Hadid was able to create this outstanding chair for Sawaya & Moroni.

At first glance this royal blue chair almost looks like an oversized record that has been melted and moulded into a peculiar shape. However this effect was created by taking a single sheet of blue malleable plastic and creasing it along two lines. The middle is then bent to create the seat and backrest.

This chair would look incredible as a focal piece. The bold color and twisted shape is sure to catch anyones eyes. Stats for Melted Plastic Chairs Trending: Older & Chilly
