The Save the Children Online ad campaign helps to educate parents on the dangers of social media. It's not uncommon for pedophiles to pretend to be kids in order to strike up conversations with actual kids and perhaps something more down the road. While paranoia is not intended, an awareness that a stranger is still a stranger is important to instil in their children's mind.
Conceived and executed by Young & Rubicam, an ad agency based in Mexico City, Mexico, the Save the Children Online ad campaign features adults disguising themselves as children while on their phone, tablet or computer. Shot by photographer Fabián Morassut of MCM Studio, the images are completed with a tag line about the specifics of such abuse, "In Mexico, 1 in 7 children are victims of online sexual abuse. Beware of predators."
