Sarah Palin’s bid for the vice presidency didn’t pan out the way she’d hoped, but the controversial politician can rest on her laurels as a pop culture icon. From fashion to scandalous news items and even bouts on Saturday Night Live, everything Sarah Palin has touched has turned viral.

For example, Tina Fey has Sarah Palin to thank for the role that revived her stagnant career. And Halloween costume creators wouldn’t have experienced the spike in Wasilla-themed gear had it not been for the GOP diva.

While McCain’s Republican advisors are doing all they can to distance themselves from Sarah Palin, one thing’s for sure: Whether it’s out of love or hate, Palin has electrified a party belittled and much-maligned for its stagnancy.
