I grew up in a household that ate rice at every meal, and our rice cooker looked nothing like San Jang Lee’s egg-shaped design. I still eat rice at least once per day, and my rice cooker is the same dated design that’s carried in every bodega in Chinatown. This is simply ravishing.

The top disc is a touch-activated panel that tips forward to release steam. San Jang Lee intended for this rice cooker to serve as a piece of sculpture in the kitchen between uses; its sleek, futuristic lines achieve that goal in spades.
