Photographer Romain Philippon met the kids in his ‘Mother Earth’ shoot while meeting with orphans from the ‘School for Life’ program in northern Thailand. The German initiative seeks to aid children who require care and education.

Many of the children in the School for Life program lost their parents either due to HIV/AIDS or the tsunami. In this photo set, Romain Philippon captured the kids painting their faces and bodies with the mud of the soil at the School of Life, which is laid out like a farm.

As Romain Philippon points out, for these orphaned children, Mother Nature is the only parent they have left. The series above is a stunning way to capture this connection. Stats for Child Mudtography Trending: Older & Chilly
