Texting while driving is an issue that many individuals and organizations are trying to put an end to, but it looks like it might be the work of an 11 year old and her Rode Dog app that will finally do it. Victoria Walker, working in collaboration with David Frau, the creative director and designer at the interactive agency WLDG, puts the power in the hands of the driver's loved ones.
Essentially, the Rode Dog app allows friends and family members to congregate into a pack. When a person is driving, the app alerts other members of the group and then can send ‘barking’ sounds to the driver to remind him or her to stop texting.
The Rode Dog app was created as part of AT&T’s ‘It Can Wait’ hackathon and won $20,000.
