BBC Radio 1 has announced the introduction of a three-hour Rock Show featuring Daniel P. Carter. The program, which will follow The Official Chart, is the station's latest venture in its efforts to implement young talent into the roster.
The station is making a lot of changes to its lineups in an attempt to reach younger audiences. With this objective, and the company's budget cuts in mind, several familiar names, such as Edith Bowman, Mike Davies, Jen Long, CJ Beatz and Robbo Ranx, will be making their exit.
The Rock Show, in particular, is being given a hefty time slot -- Sunday nights at 7-10pm -- a decision that Daniel P. Carter describes as "reflect[ing] the importance of a genre that is now, and always will be, in great shape because it is everything to the people that love it."
