Rocking the fashion and style world of late, are stone and rock inspired objects. From the Hussein Chalayan stone age inspired collection to the Pebble MP3 player from Samsung, designers seem to be heavily intrigued by rocks.

The undulating form found in Conran’s Equilibrium Scales and pebble weight set is a beautiful interpretation of the trend. The Ryoko perfume from Kenzo borrows from the shape of stones, while the Radio with rocks by Yanko is literally just that.  The Livingstones cushions of Stephanie Marin look like great fun.

Using stones in jewelry is nothing new, but the new and interesting ways of incorporating the natural beauty of rocks with a minimum of embellishment takes the design to an intrinsic base or earth, level.
