Robots to build homes

As easy as it sounds, maybe the future of home construction. Based on the technology of the 3D printers, this new machine will be able to build a full home in just 24 hours and operated just by one operator. We are not talking about future, this is now, as now as April! The system seems to work, it builds the entire structure in a mix of palster and cement, and it let’s you apply new architectural designs with no corners, different sized windows, and in general full of curves and vaults. Of course it’s just the first prototype, we are talking about just walls, but soon in England they will build another one in just a week with spaces in the walls for pipes and electricity. It is cheaper (a 20% at least), much faster and let’s you innovate in design. Maybe it’s the perfect solution for natural disasters like Katrina Hurricane or earthquakes that leave thousands of people without a home. We will be able to see a result in April with their first house in California, but for now I find it fascinating that this machines can reduce so much times of construction. Via: cienladrillos |
