Joyner's clever theme of first world problems is one that many are contemplating these days. The idea of these problems and the selfish nature of them has even become an Internet sensation. Numerous people quote the phrase as a way to denote a funny situation that only first world citizens would experience. Joyner explains, "these new paintings are set in urban areas... with an emphasis on robots loitering around bakeries, and other small establishments." Having problems with loitering robots would definitely be classified as a first world problem. With such a clever theme, these robot paintings are sure to garner a lot of interest at the gallery.
