Uber is a popular rideshare program popular in many cities, and the service has recently expanded its user interface to allow friends and family to track the whereabouts of those riding in an Uber vehicle. The added feature is known as Trip Tracker and adds an element of safety as well as convenience for consumers looking to check up and keep track of their friends using the platform.

With Uber recently receiving legalizations in major urban metropolises such as Toronto, the service is offering people outside the main user's profile to track rides. Trip Tracker grants friend and family members access to another user's profile, so that they can keep track of where they are. This is ideal for many reasons, including the ability keeping track of people's whereabouts and safety.
