Various copies of UK pop star Rick Astley’s 1987 smash hit Never Gonna Give You Up have registered over 13million views on YouTube thanks to the fad known as “rickrolling.” Basically rickrolling is a falsely labeled link on a website to Astley’s YouTube video.
Eighties pop crooner Rick Astley has broken his silence over the online prank that has seen one of his videos become one of the biggest hits on YouTube.
The internet fad of 'Rickrolling' involves conning other readers of a website into watching the video for Astley's 1987 smash hit Never Gonna Give You Up.
This is achieved by claiming the link goes to something else, for example; 'You must read this fascinating New York Times article about how Hillary Clinton admits strangling puppies with her bare hands.'
