REX Architecture has adjusted the outside of the buildings of two conjoined media companies to change in looks as the day goes on. Reacting to the positioning of the sun, the sides of these structures features retractable sunshades.
Since the heat is so unbelievably strong in the region, this type of architecture is needed in order for people to stay cool. During the day the shades go up, protecting the people inside from the warm rays, and at night they are pulled back so that passersby can see inside the building. Moreover, common areas are situated in the lower part of the building, again to help with the heating issue. These areas are shaded from the sun just that little bit more.
