British chips (or crisps) brand Walkers is bringing back five retro chip flavors, including a lamb and mint variety.

To the rest of the world, these retro chip flavors may sound bizarre, but they were once British favorites. Walkers is temporarily bringing back its barbecue, toasted cheese, lamb and mint, beef and onion and cheese and chive flavors. Chip fans will be able to eat their fill of all five until the end of November, when just one of the retro chip flavors will remain on the shelves. Those with strong opinions about their snack foods can vote for their favorite flavor on the Walkers website or on Twitter using hashtags. Walkers is already bringing back its Marmite flavor permanently.

The Walkers retro chip flavors campaign is a clever way to drum up engagement with the brand. Steadfast lovers of the chips will remember the retro chip flavors and want to try them again, while new consumers will be attracted by the novelty of the odd tastes. Hashtag voting means that the campaign will get attention on social media, but the old school website vote makes sure that no one gets left out.
