 'Million Tree Challenge' Aims to Prevent Wildfires and Plant Trees Published: Apr 8, 09 Views: 1,306 California State Parks hit hard by wildfires over the past six years, are hitting back with their ‘Reforest California’ campaign. The program is supported by Stater Bros. Supermarkets, Coca-Cola, and California State Parks. It will seek to raise fire-prevention and funds to add one million native trees to devastated forest areas.  With the slogan “Join the Million Tree Challenge,” the campaign challenges consumers and private businesses to participate and raise money towards the goal of creating 1,800 acres of newly planted trees - an area more than twice the size of Lake Arrowhead. It is estimated that this could result in seven million dollars in environmental savings each year due to energy conservation and reduced pollution.
