The Reflector Floor Lamp may look futuristic, but the design was actually inspired by something much more archaic: beaver pelt stretching techniques. Although it could be mistaken for a piece of photography equipment, the light fixture clearly emits a nice ambient glow that is both warm and inviting. This is somewhat contradictory to how it looks. Yet it suits modern sensibilities and contemporary homes quite well.
Designed by Canadian design studio Castor, the Reflector Floor Lamp is made using a stretched foil leather. Acting as a light diffuser, it reflects LED lighting in a unique and striking way. According to the creative designers, "The base and stem of the light is designed to disappear in order to display the leather reflector."
