These Recyclable Models Mirror Real Refineries and Gas Stations

These refinery models are large scale models of real gas stations and treatment plants. At first when you look at these images, they look real but if you look close, you’ll see they are a bit different.

You may have to do a double-take when you see these images because at first they just look like overly Photoshopped versions of really grungy locales. When you look again though you can see that these images are made out of various recycled materials like hair curlers and egg cartons. The images were also filmed in natural locations on the east coast of California to add authenticity.

The super-stylized images were taken by artist David LaChapelle and will feature in his "Lad scape" exhibition at the Paul Kasmin Gallery in New York form January 17th to March 1st. Stats for Homemade Lifelike Refinery Models Trending: Older & Mild
