Reddit announced 'Reddit Watch,' a new feature built into the mobile app for the platform. This feature offers users access to an algorithmically-generated vertical-scrolling feed of short form videos, similar to TikTok or YouTube Shorts. This feature expands discoverability on the Reddit platform as it provides new opportunities for content creators to have their content shown to new users based on algorithmically-determined interests.
In addition to aiding discoverability, the Reddit Watch feature will improve monetization on the platform, as it offers creators access to a new set of advertisements on the site, if Reddit decides to monetize this content for creators.
