The last few days in Toronto have been scorching hot but they’re nothing compared to the heat experienced in East Asia. A record-breaking heatwave in China has residents looking to beat the heat any way they can.

These photos show how hundreds of people are willing to get very close to one another if it means cooling off. The record-breaking heatwave in China has caused severe overcrowding in public pools, but based on the smiling faces, no one seems to mind. Mud baths and huge blocks of ice in classrooms are also being used.
