4,000 MPH Jet - Reaction Engine LAPCAT

A UK company, Reaction Engines, has unveiled the ‘A2’ - a passenger jet capable of travelling almost 4,000mph. It would be capable or travel between the UK and Australia in less than five hours. It is thought the jet, powered by liquid hydrogen Scimitar engine, could be operating withing 25 years.

Interestingly The LAPCAT (Long-Term Advanced Propulsion Concepts and Technologies) project is being funded by the European Space Agency who are keen for air travel to start using technology more commonly associated with space travel.
