Social Shopping - 17 Year Old Woman Launches Rasba.com (GALLERY)

Rasba.com, launched by a 17 year old superstar, is a social shopping site that brings a new and innovative twist to the world of online shopping. In short, Rasba.com helps young shoppers connect with hip brands and share products. In short, brands/retailers come to Rasba and easily customizable stores within the website. Then users shop, earn rewards and socialize their acquisitions.
The cool part about Rasba is the social networking component, targetted towards young shoppers. When you buy any product from a stores on Rasba, the product goes to your own public profile page. This lets you showcase your purchased items (see http://rasba.com/profile/20). Users can also manage a wishlist on their profile, and get updates on what their friends are buying. This allows users to discover new products, share purchased items, and earn rewards for shopping.
Finally, I would like to note that I was impressed to meet Miriam Brafman, the site’s 17 year old founder. Her and her cofounder have created a very impressive site, making it shocking to learn that she was only 16 when she worked on the strategy and design. I met Miriam at the recent PSFK conference, proving once again that my friend Piers Fawkes knows how to draw together interesting people.
