With cutting edge solar technology as its source of energy, the Ras al Khaimah eco city development in the United Arab Emirates, was designed by Rem Koolhaas’s OMA office. Inhabitat says that Ras al Khaimah (which means top of the tent) will be, “Built using locally-sourced Arabian materials and aesthetic styles to support the city’s overall ethos of sustainability”.
