The Bonneville Salt Flats are an incredible natural salt desert located in Utah where photographer Alexandra Lier has captured racers playing with some of the fastest vehicles in the world. Lier's illustrative book, entitled The World's Fastest Place, captures racers displaying their speed and skill amongst a natural landmark.
In her book, Lier captures using images the tradition of racers visiting the Salt Flats to test out their motorcycles, belly tanks, cars and all sorts of machines on the uncolonized salt plains. The images showcase a stark contrast between man-made machinery with the natural beauty and untouched quality of the Salt Flats as racers get ready to test out their machines and leave treads that will forever stay imprinted on the ground till the next racer comes along.
