The 'Pure Michigan' Campaign Aims to Lure Visitors to the Motor City

Detroit's award-winning tourism brand Pure Michigan is launching a new series of adverts to attract tourists to the Great Lakes state.

The new Pure Michigan campaign is funded by a $13 million budget including $3 million from partner organizations. Pure Michigan received $29 in state funding, while Governor Rick Snyder has proposed a $31 million contribution for the state's next budget effective October 1.

The televised commercials will air at least 5,000 times on NBC, CBS, ABC and over a dozen other cable channels. The half-minute adverts, which include one called 'Open Road' and another dubbed 'Summer Breeze,' will splash picturesque shots of Detroit's coastlines, golf courses and other major attractions.
