World's First Dog Face Transplant Performed[Edit]
This cute beagle named Wing Wen is the world’s first dog to have received a face transplant. The surgery gave the puppy new skin, an ear and eyelids from a donor dog. The patchwork pup from Fuzhou in China is helping with human face graft research. The chief plastic surgeon at the Fujian Provincial Hospital in Fuzhou, Zhen Shengwu, is hoping that the success of Wing Wen’s surgery will attract wealthy Westerners wanting to undergo face change surgery of their own.  "Since a dog’s face is close to a human’s, it’s a good reference for future human face transplants."
