You can bet I’ll use spell check more often after knowing there are seriously perturbed spelling-bee winners somewhere dedicating websites to commonly misspelled words. The simple, yet effective site at D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y.com, wants you to know that you have no excuse anymore for spelling it as “definately,” definetly,” and certainly not “defiantly.” FINITE is the root of the word, people! Don’t you forget it! 

The author even took a clever jab at the bottom of the page: “Example: Sylvia Browne is definitely not psychic.” This ends up taking you to a link of the fairly-comical rants at stopsylvia.com. Seems the spelling-perfectionists of the internet may have more cynical peeves than just you messing up the English language.
