Ad Promotes Bullshit

[Edit]
Green Energy Campaign by PG & E|
I am not sure whether the image is just a creation of the blog owner I took this message from or a copy of the ad the energy company released. Whatever the case, it is a perfect design for a billboard promoting the energy company’s “green” intentions for sustainable energy. As a matter of fact, it is nothing innovative when an energy company, in this case PG&E in California announces that they started generating energy from a sustainable source. Not even when the source is cow manure. It is already done by many companies worldwide. Several universities and research centres are studying the “by-products” of cattle in general and cows in particular. Indeed cow manure emits methane as it decomposes, and although being a greenhouse gas, when captured it can be turned into sustainable energy. Studies are even trying to develop systems to capture the methane when cows are farting. Cows are responsible for a large share of the greenhouse gases as a consequence climate change. It is not because PG&E are planning to use the “green” energy to power some 1.200 homes in California that I took this post from Gizmodo, but it is the illustration that they had on their website that struck me being a perfect design for a billboard promoting PG&E and “green” energy.
If you want to know more about cow manure transformed into green energy go to: “This renewable energy is bullshit”
