Filmmaker Sébastien Lifshitz took LGBT pride photos that date back to the early 20th century and is showcasing them in a photobook. The creative, who is most known for his documentary titled Les Invisibles, couldn’t have released his new novel at a better time: just in time for World Pride.

To coincide the book with his documentary he titled it ‘The Invisibles: Vintage Portraits of Love and Pride.’ The book showcases individuals and couples who are gay, are presumed to be gay or are cross-dressers. All of the photographs originate between the years of 1900 and 1960.

The book was made to serve as a reminder that LGBT people have always existed. The people in these photos, especially considering the times, were brave enough to show their true colors with pride—as all LGBT people should.
