Predictive technologies are being used with a variety of applications, from advanced mobile keyboards to legal outcomes. French startup Predictice predicts court decisions using big data and historical cases. The app offers lawyers stats on the probable outcome of litigation of a commercial and social nature.

Using past precedence in court history, Predictice combines case law and machine learning for a new application of predictive technologies. Dentons (the world's largest law firm) collaborated with the new venture to develop the software that can give a statistical analysis on the cost, course and length of a dispute. This gives lawyers the chance to better strategize beforehand, especially when it comes to deciding arguments and compensation. Although the system is currently being used in France, it has potential to be adapted to other judicial systems in different countries.
