POSTIE is the name of an app that makes it possible for smartphone users to send and receive handwritten messages.

One one end of the two-way system, a user can begin by writing a special message on the screen of their smartphone. It can then be sent off for another user with the POSTIE app to receive. Rather than just receiving this message in an intangible digital format, POSTIE can be configured with Bluetooth to print out the message on a slip of paper. This charming system has the potential to reshape mail delivery and make it easier to receive handwritten letters without stamps, envelopes or a trip to the post office.

POSTIE is just one of the inventive IoT device prototypes that will be on display from HACKist at SXSW 2016.
