The 'Popemoji' app has been released to honor Pope Francis through a selection of stickers, images and GIFs. Created in anticipation of the Pope's future trip to the US, the emojis highlight past places visited by the Pope, as well as landmarks he is going to visit soon. Some of the stickers include images of the pope at the Statue of Liberty and the Lincoln Memorial.

Other emojis include uniquely American activities like the Pope eating a hotdog or taking selfies. The app also honors the Pope's love for soccer with numerous soccer-inspired emojis and GIFs. The app also celebrates Pope Francis' many selfies, which further displays his approachable nature.

The app is part of a larger project that is trying to connect the Pope with younger audiences through social media.
