PlayStation 3 - Good news for Sony?

[Edit]
PlayStation 3 finally goes on sale; the release of Sony Computer Entertainment’s new console couldn’t have come at a better time to create some positive buzz about a brand name whose gleam no longer seems to outshine that of its competitors. The console is relatively large; the size of bathroom scales, but runs surprisingly quietly and there is no brutish power supply. The design is classic sony cool, with a semi-translucent case, touch-sensitive buttons and a classy slot-loading disc drive.
“PS3 is the most advanced computer system that serves as a platform to enjoy next generation computer entertainment contents in the home, realized through the combination of Cell and RSX® processors. Having Gigabit Ethernet and a pre-installed HDD as standard in both PS3 models, users will be able to download a variety of contents as well as access on-line games and services over the network.”
