The Plasma Mobile operating system is a freely downloadable mobile platform that is based on Linux open source software. Essentially a mobile version of the Plasma desktop operating system, the software does not come pre-installed on amy smartphones but can be downloaded and installed onto your Google Nexus 5.

This smartphone platform is very similar to the desktop version with the exception that it features a workspace and interface customized for the smartphone experience. The software is capable of handling basic smartphone functions such as calling, notifications and app-launching, and can enable you to run your favorite desktop apps on your mobile phone.

The Plasma Mobile operating system is a fine example of convergent technology in that it allows users of the desktop platform to enjoy the same functionality on their smartphones for better streamlining.
