This pipe bridge comes from three product design students in Bosnia who got the opportunity by winning a competition five years ago. Since then, Adnan Alagić, Bojan Kanlić and Amila Hrustić have worked tirelessly to come up with a unique bridge concept. The pipe bridge is basically two parallel walkways that merge in the center by way of a pipe like vertical roundabout. The bridge is actually named Festina Lente, meaning "make haste, slowly."
It is more than 38 meters long, which is about 3/8 of a football field. It covers the Miljacka rivers and also features two benches underneath the loop in the middle of the bridge. "The basic idea of the bridge is the union of the secular and spiritual," explain the designers on their site, "The loop on the bridge is a symbolic gate."
