Pilots-N-Paws Transports Abandoned Pets to New Homes

Pilots-n-Paws is a group of over a thousand pilot volunteers who work with rescue groups to fly unwanted, abandoned, and neglected pets to no-kill shelters and adoptive families. Most of the animals are flown out of the southeast where the shelter kill rate can be as high as 68%, and into the north where they stand a better chance at adoption.

As a 501-c3 nonprofit, Pilots-n-Paws relies upon volunteers and donations. Their website includes maps showing the locations of volunteers, pilots, and transport requests. There are also lots of photos, stories, a PayPal donation button and a link to the Pilots-n-Paws Facebook page.

As the recession drags on, this is a hugely valuable service that saves pets’ lives everyday. Stats for Animal Rescue Flights Trending: Older & Warm
