Inspired by 35mm photography, Leah Tinari created these candid caricatures which look very much like camera-taken snapshots of people partying. According to the artist, she is most interested in the kinds of photographs that someone else would toss in the trash or erase from their digital camera shortly after they are taken. Tinari aims to infuse her work with a sense of realism so that the end results have a somewhat voyeuristic nature about them. I wonder if she knows that they evoke envy too? This looks like a great night out!  My work is a celebration of life. I strive to make paintings of my life, the people and the world around me. I want to create a wonderful and vital dialog between people and art, and between art and life.
