‘Phone Sex’ by Phillip Toledano is a coffee table book that explores the faces on the other end of the (900) numbers. It does so in a tasteful—at least, as tasteful as can be considering the content—but candid manner.

The ‘Phone Sex’ interviews Phillip Toledano collects are fascinating in that these men and women hold widely varying perspectives on their line of work. Take Number 8, for example: “I breathe life into the fantasy. I carve the doll out of flesh. I do not view myself as this doll… I am the manufacturer who creates her from the blueprint that the caller provides me.”
