An item of clothing can have an edge in any color as proven by the 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2014 Collection. Such an offering shows the versatility of the designer as an innovator and a modernist. The collection ranges from lavender to a deep, midnight blue.

Lim's color philosophy mixes purples with camels, teals, khakis and pinks with maroons without looking like an artistic experiment. Button down shirts start off white and transition into blocks of black, green and purple.

Sequin overcoats shine in a swirl of purple, silver and gold as well. So the point is, the designer proves that he can literally do whatever he wants with color and somehow makes it work naturally. It's effortlessly cool and is only a precursor of his future ideas.
