Thomas Schneider is a recent cabinetmaking graduate who designed this whiskey cabinet called ‘Harper’ that acts as a personal butler. It is a freestanding object that can be placed anywhere in the room and is made of ash and folded paper. It’s a tall structure with modular pieces, very different from traditional whiskey cabinets. However Schneider aims to prove that it’s possible to create a contemporary piece using traditional techniques.

This piece is very quaint and modern; I love the white paper and ash wood color combination. The paper can be opened and closed, while inside reveals a small platform for the whiskey and another smaller platform that slides out to hand you a glass. The whole design is smart and eloquent, and even includes a second level to store glasses or a pack of cigars.
