Google is working hard to bring its conceptual personal assistant to the table. The company is in love with small, rapid-fire updates, which makes it hard to keep track of Google’s direction. The classic search result of ten blue links is going to be replaced with something smarter that resembles a personal assistant, or in other words, "the next generation of search."
Scott Huffman, Google's Engineering Director, states that the personal assistant will make your daily tasks simpler and quicker. This idea takes the search engine out of the screen and inserts it into your daily life, and quite possibly, your car. It results in simple interactions by engaging in conversation with Google either through a screen or microphone and speakers.
Google's personal assistant will interact in back-and-forth conversation and Google Now will make this service more proactive.
