A Canadian duck vacationing for the winter in Florida was shot and killed by a hunter. The hunter’s dog retrieved this duck in his mouth, the hunter hung it upside-down with other dead ducks before he put it in his refrigerator along with the other ducks he had killed that day. Amazingly, two days after being put in the refrigerator, this duck was found alive by the very compassionate wife of the huntsman. She rushed her to the veterinarian and “Perky” as she’s been lovingly-named will spend the rest of her days in a protected wildlife sanctuary. That Perky is really one lucky duck! 

And not only is Perky on the road to recovery, it seems she's been guaranteed a comfortable life at a local reserve where she will spend her days educating Floridians on why shooting ducks - or at least shooting at them inaccurately - can have consequences. (smh.au)
