At first glance this peppermint chocolate fudge might not look super healthy, but it does in fact contain an added source of protein -- hemp hearts. Created by Beth from the food blog Tasty Yummies, the fudge is also formed into festive tree shapes, making them ideal for Christmas cookie season.

The dairy-free, nut-free and grain-free dessert recipe is made without corn syrup or insane amounts of sugar. To make your own peppermint chocolate fudge, you will need coconut oil, hemp hearts (such as the ones from Manitoba Harvest), raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder), raw honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, peppermint extract and sea salt. You also have the option of adding a crushed up, naturally sweetened candy cane.
